I'm a terrible blogger. There I said it. I guess it just comes more natural to some people than it does to others. Truth be told, its been a slooowwwww winter and I havent had much to share. Buisness has picked up in the last few weeks, and I expect it to get even busier very soon. I've got quite a few weddings lined up for this spring/summer and I'm hopping to do more senior portraits, family/children pictures and maybe even some boudior sessions. Ok, so I haven't been able to update this thing in a very long, long time. I've been spending so much time taking and editing pictures, that I haven't had a whole lot of time to write about them. So to the hand full of people that actually take the time to look at my blog, I am very sorry.

Matt and Hannah got married in July at one of the most beautiful venues, Hurtbourne Counrty Club. I absolutly adore these two. Their entire wedding party was one of the most friendly groups ever, I honestly felt like I had been friends with them for years. I was telling Hannah earlier today that I'm not one to brag, but I had to pat myself on the back...all of thier moments that I captured were just like a true fairytale come to life. I really impressed myself! Hannah, Matt...thank you so much for welcoming me into your lives to share such a special day with the two of you. I honeslty feel like I have made some great friends and thats not something that happends all the time. Love you guys!!!

Another Julian Chapel wedding! I am becoming a regular around that place...Can't complain though. I said I was behind on my blogging...but 5 posts in one day, yikes! I'll have to keep this one short, because its late and my eyes are going to be really angry with me if I don't get to bed soon. Shari and Matt were married at the beautiful Locust Grove. It was a gorgeous ceremony, and a fun reception to follow. I was IN LOVE with her flowers, they were some of the prettiest I have ever seen. I loved their bridal party...they were such a fun group. The ceremony was held at the Julian Chapel in J-town...their wedding was the first in a series of weddings that I photographed there. (Two posts in one day? I know, I've been super busy and I am trying REALLY hard to get everyones pictures back to them in a reasonable amount of time. I've had some car problems...so I traded in the problem and got a new car! so things were kinda crazy for a while but they have settled back down and I am working harder than ever!)

ME! I celebrated my 25th birthday last week... I didn't do much other than hang out with some friends, but surrounding yourself with the people that you care about and have fun with is the BEST way to celebrate.

So...I know it seems like I haven't posted much of my work in the recent months...But that doesn't mean that I haven't been busy. I did some really cool Bridal Portraits for Kristina Who's engagement pictures I did last fall. However, the wedding is not until June, so I have to wait to share until after the wedding. BUT... Jennifer and Aron are getting Married on Saturday so there will be something to look at on this blog very very soon!

So. This blog has been more like a ghost town then a blog. I have decided to make some major changes to my website...which I plan on doing as soon as I get some new material...which I will as soon as I get some new material...which I will as soon as my busy season starts. This year it looks like my busy season is going to be from April until the end of September. *yay* I am getting really excited and anxious about all of the weddings and engagement sessions...

It makes me so happy and thankful to see how much my buisness has grown, just from last year. I have DOUBLED the weddings that I have booked...and that just makes me smile =)

I am looking forward for what the rest of 2010 has in store for me!

My blog has been feeling a little neglected lately, and with my next wedding not until April, I'm afraid I don't have a whole lot to show you.

On a more personal note it has been an exhausting week. My husband Brandon celebrated his 27th birthday this past Sunday (Happy Birthday babe!) We also got 2-3 inches of snow which made traveling a little more interesting that normal. Sadly, his aunt Donna bravely succumbed to cancer at the age of 54 on Friday. She left behind a loving Husband of 27 years, and two children Marty and Lana who I know will always carry her in their hearts, and now they have a beautiful angel watching over them.

For any one who has been waiting on getting their photos back from me, I apologize and thank you for bearing with me, It has been a trying time for me and my extended family and I appreciate your patience.

Since I don't have any new wedding photos to show, please enjoy some pictures of our dogs enjoying the snow.

The weather man predicted snow, and snow it did! I am SO pleased with how these pictures turned out. I couldn't have asked for a better couple to brave the cold weather, they didnt mind the temerature or the snow, I heart people that do things for the love of photography. It was a COLD COLD COLD Saturday when they got married, but the falling temperatures did not stop the love from flowing. They had a very beautiful, intimate ceremony in Richmond, followed by a very classy reception held in Lexington. The bride and groom both wore smiles all day long and the happy faces must have been contagious because EVERYONE was walking around with a big grin.

Thank you for including me in such a special day and allowing me to capture everything for you, I enjoyed every minute of it! I hope you are enjoying your honeymoon in Alaska...keep each other warm! and congratulations!

Ok! So let me start by saying that I recieved over 20 e-mails regarding the free wedding photography... I read so many touching stories that it was impossible for me to choose. What I ended up doing was putting names in a hat and drawing 4 names to be concidered....and the four couples are......

Leslie and Nick

For a background about us… Nick and I are an ordinary, everyday couple. While we are not saints, we are working harder everyday to become better people and create a better community. Christmas, to us, is a time of giving. As Jesus gave us the gift of eternal life, we try and give of ourselves to those less fortunate during the holidays and all year round.
This Christmas may have been one of the most memorable and heart-warming, as we made a long-awaited trip to Harlan County, KY in the heart of Appalachia. This western region of the state is one of the poorest areas in Kentucky. We had made a mission trip down to the region earlier in 2009 to build a handicap ramp for an elderly lady, and while we were there, we fell in love with the people and the area.. We were introduced to a man named Muggins, who (for over 20 years) has been the chairperson for a wonderful program, the Tri-City Empty Stocking Fund, an annual event that provides food and Christmas presents to over 600 families in Harlan County. Each year, the event provides each family with a 100-pound box of food to supply a Christmas dinner and two presents to each child in the family. To tell about how wonderful these boxes were - each box received a ham, several canned goods, milk, bread, juice, butter, sugar, flour, cornmeal, cereal, and so much more. We were floored that one man could provide so much to those who have so little!
We were determined to get involved, and of course, Muggins was grateful to have more volunteers. Incorporating the help of our families, friends, and the UL Nursing school, we managed to collect over 1200 cans of green beans to help fill the boxes. Little did I know that 1200 cans of green beans was nothing compared to the food that was donated by charities and individuals throughout the entire US. After the weeks of collection, I still felt like there was more I could do. So, I (Leslie) then made the four-and-a-half hour journey back down to Appalachia and spent two days filling the boxes and delivering them door-to-door in the snow. It was the most rewarding thing I have ever done! Even though Santa came a little early to the children in Harlan County, they were ecstatic to have presents under their tree. They were even more excited about the food that we brought, since the majority of the children were out of school for the break, and were missing their free breakfast and lunch that they received at the school. It was so heartbreaking to see the children with their noses to the door waiting for their “Christmas box”. I wish I could put it in words… but to these families who have basically nothing but each other, we were able to help provide them with a Christmas.
I feel extremely blessed to have helped experience the true meaning of Christmas: giving of ourselves and loving one another as Christ did. I am fortunate to have been given the opportunity to learn this lesson. While we have been involved in several volunteer projects, we have found this one to be close to our hearts and our home.
We are already making plans to go back to Appalachia in 2010… this time a longer trip to make a bigger impact and serve more of the surrounding areas. We hope that more people will join our bandwagon and tag along as we try and share our gifts, time, talent, and treasure with those that need it most!

Steve and Ashley

Steve was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan and was working for a company for 4 years when he was sent to Louisville for a week long training. On August 1rst, 2007 Steve and Ashley met at Forth Street live (ashley was a student at U of L). They began chatting on the phone (long distance) and after two weeks ashley made the 7 hour drive to Michigan to see Steve. It was instant love. We drove every weekend for the next year to see each other only missing two weekends. We were so in love that we made the decision for Steve to transfer to Bowling Green, KY and to start our lives together. Steve left his friends and family behind but stays in constant contact After a year more of dating we became engaged and also bought a home in Bowling Green. Ashley is making the same sacrifice as she is moving to BG next month. We are currently planning the wedding and looking for our photagrapher which is a big expense. We are a young couple with a lot of expenses and a free photagrapher would really help our wedding to be perfect. We thank you for considering us for your gift.

SaVanna And Ryan
We have two beautiful sons named Gabriel (22 months) and Skyler (4 weeks.) We got engaged on Sept 5th, 2009 exactly a month after our 3 year anniversity. Our family of 4 deserves the Free Wedding Photography because we do everything we can for our sons and for eachother. We put all of our money towards our family. All of our wedding will be paid for with tax returns we have made deposits on the hall rental, the cake, the DJ and have bought things here and there. I want everything to be perfect as this is my big day. It would mean the world to me to have you photograph our wedding, I have everything else lined up except the photographer, I was wondering how we were going to pay for the Photographer and I think that we could be the perfect choice for the session

Heather and Clint

I know that the picture is'nt all that great, but I think that Clint and I deserve to have our wedding photographed for free because we have been through so much together. We met when we were both still very young so we went through the hardest years of growing up together.Things haven't always been easy and over the years we have both done a lot of soul searching... but life's journey has always led us back to each other.

We are both honest hard working people. We bought our first home together about a year ago and most recently adopted a puppy that was living in a cold garage and only being fed table scraps. I am sure that there are other very deserving couples, this would just be a wonderful gift and a nice break for us! Thank you!!!

That's right! I gave a wedding away last year and I plan on making it an annual occurrence...so this would be the second annual give away! Hello again! It feels like its been a while since I have had time to write any thing on my dear old blog. So much has been going on! Its Christmas time, which is my favorite holiday. There is just something about this time of year that makes me feel warm inside, the lights and the trees, the stores are warm and playing christmas music. I love watching all the Christmas movies...I am acctually watching National Lampoons Christmas as I type this. I love seeing all the kidos anticipating a visit from Santa...tis the season to be Jolly! But remember its not the giving...its not the getting....its the loving.

In other news I have a booth at the Special Occasions bridal show January 3rd at the Fair and Expo center!!! If you are planning a wedding and you are still looking for a photographer for the big day stop by my booth, I've got some sweat deals for ya!

The real reason for this post is the last wedding of 2009. Well it wasn't my wedding it was my friend Clarrisa's wedding...her very first wedding! She asked me to tag along to help out. Floyds Knob Indiana-

As the year is winding to the end at warp speed, and the weather is slowly but surly becoming cold, Caitlin and Aaron were blessed with a beautiful Saturday to celebrate the beginning of their marriage. It was warm (for the middle of November), so we were able to get some really great out door photos. They were such a fun group, and they really care about each other... which makes it so much more interesting for me.

It has been a CRAZY week for me! My E-drive went out on my laptop so I was not able to burn discs for a few people, and I have been freaking out. My main priority is always the satisfaction of my clients and I am so upset that it is taking me longer then normal to get people thier pictures back. Lucky for me I have some of the most understanding and wonderful clients so I don't think anyone is too upset with me. I got a brand spanking new laptop yesterday (yay) so I will be working on transfering images from the old lap top to the new one so that I can get them on discs.

Anyways the main attraction of this post is the greatness that is Jennifer and Aron. Jennifer is in my top 10 list of the nicest people ever I have ever met and Aron cracks me up. Their first date was at Louisville Slugger Field, and Aron proposed to her there too (not on thier first date though!) So what better place to do thier engagment pictures than....you guessed it Slugger field.

There was a Breast Cancer walk going on downtown the same afternoon that we had scheduled thier shoot. Litterally half of down town Louisville was closed off...we worked it out though and found some great locations.

I am sooo looking forward to your spring wedding, I am sure it will be Ahhhh-Mazing! (and since Aron will be there full of lots of laughs too!) See you two in April!

Hey everybody! Just wanted to give everyone some updates with what I have been up to lately. I haven't had any more photo shoots since I posted Kristina and Brett's engagement session, but there is some exciting things going on...one is a secret (sorry!) you will just have to keep checking back to see when the secret is unveiled.

Carrie had her baby...remember the mystery baby that I blogged about about a week and a half ago? Its a BOY! (I thought that all along) And hopefully very soon I will be able to make it over to meet the little fella and do a new born session too.

Tomorrow I am meeting with a prospective couple, so lets keep our fingers crosses and hopefully we will have another bride and groom to join the Flashy family. I also talked to another bride today who is getting married in 2011...Can you believe it? 2011!!? She doesn't have her date set in stone yet, but I was thrilled to know that even with her wedding date so far out she wanted to talk to me about her photography needs!

So anyways, I am feeling like things are kind of slow right now, but they will be picking up soon. I have a wedding in November, one in December and one the first week of January. I also am preparing for the Special Occasions bridal show that will be held at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition center some time in early January... if you are planning on making the trip out there make sure you stop and see me!

Kristina and Brett met in Oklahoma where they both attended college. She is From Texas and He is a Louisville boy. They are getting married next summer in Danville...I am really excited about their wedding and I can't wait to see Kristina in her wedding dress! I was a little nervous photographing them at first, Kristina is also a photographer. She said that she mostly does it for fun, but I still felt the pressure. I have never photographed another photographer but I am so pleased with the way these all turned out, it was REALLY hard to pick my favorites for the blog. Hope you like them! Its the Great Pumpkin...

Its WAYYY past my bed time but I really wanted to get this up today beacuse as you can tell from looking at these images...Carrie is about to pop...on Wendsday acctually! This is her 3rd baby and because she already has a boy and a girl, her and her husband Dean decided not to find out what they are having this time. So I am am really excited to meet this mystery baby.

Anyways I went with Carrie and the kids out to a farm is Shelbyville and got some pumpkin patch pictures... I really like they way they turned out. Kids can be really unpredictable but they worked it out. Hope you enjoy thier cutness as much as I do!

This was so much fun for me, it was my first family/maternity session that I have done. Aren't they a beautiful family? I vote yes. Jaime when your baby boy gets here I want to get some newborn pics! Amy and Rande...I don't know where to start. Your wedding was beautiful. There is no hiding your love for each other. I had such a good time, I loved that everyone was able to loosen up in from of the camera and have a good time, I think it really shows in the images. I had like a 500 favorites....literally. Every thing was just picture perfect, which made my job very very easy. Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your special day with me!

Who are these fabulously good looking people you might ask? They are Candice and Eliot. Eliot is a very good friend of my husband...he was in our wedding a few years ago. Anyways he and Candice live is Los Angeles and are in town this week for their wedding on Friday. Unfortunately for me I will not be the lucky one to photograph their wedding...(but I will be there cheering them on from the sidelines) Anyways I am glad that they wanted me to do some engagement pictures because they are two of the most photogenic people, and they were tottaly relaxed in front of the camera. I had such a hard time choosing just a few...so I hope your eyeballs enjoy the hotness that is Eliot and Candice.

I would like you to meet Shanna and Darian... They were married on 8.2009 (I told ya that I was going to step my game up with the blogging.) I have to say that I cry at all the weddings I go to...but I cried the most at this one. From the ceremony, to the toasts...These two love each other so much, but what makes this super sweet is that they have tons of family and friends that love them too. During the reception someone came up to me and gave a a gigantic hug and gave me the nicest compliment, and thanked me for working so hard.

I loved every minute of it. From what I can tell these two haven't always had it easy, but I have a funny feeling that the love that they share will be able to endure what ever life hands them.

Darian and Shanna I want to thank you for inviting me to share your wedding day with you. It was wonderful, heartfelt, amazing, and any one who says any differently will have to answer to me!!

Beth and Eric tied the knot on 8/22...I know I know I am just now getting around to blogging about it and posting some pictures. I am going to try MUCH harder in the future to be up on my blogging game. Back to Beth and Eric their wedding and reception was nothing short of
Ah-Mazing-ness....reception complete with Eric's version of Prince's "Kiss" It was the best...I would have given my big toe to have had a video camera. This wedding was especially special...they got married in the same church that my husband and I got married in. I loved being there on the other side of the camera to capture the same wonderful, exciting emotions that I felt in the very same place just over two years ago.

Beth and Eric I have no words to thank you for such a delightful experience. Your wedding was beautiful, intimate, heartfelt, and filled with love, and I'm so blessed to have been a part of your journey....you both deserve nothing but the best life has to offer. Congratulations!

So I am super excited...I have to say I have such GREAT clients they are all so unique..and just down right FABULOUS.

Anyways I wanted to let everyone know that I am running a special right now for family/kid shoots that is $50 for 1/2 hr shoot and $100 for an hr. ALSO starting in October/November I will be doing $30 dollar mini sessions for Christmas card pictures!

A new take on the guest book

Instead of using the plain, boring guest book, concider this... Almost ALL of my wedding packages come with an engagement photo session, Rande and Amy decided to add a guest book album to their package. I think this is such a good idea, and having an album like this for your guests to sign is sure to be something that you will treasure.

I had such a good time with this group. They are some of the most genuine loving and happy people. I met Amy and Rande downtown this past Saturday morning for their engagement shoot. It was beautiful outside, but extremely HOT. Jamie and Chuck are honestly two of the nicest people I have ever met. Their wedding day, is a day that will not soon be forgotten. I am so happy that they trusted me with such a special day for them. They have such a strong bond, and you can almost see the love that they have for each other radiating from them. Being around two people that are so happy in love really makes me feel priviliged to be there to capture the day, that I know they will look back on as "the happiest day of their lives". I cannot believe that this year is almost half way over! I have stayed incredibly busy, doing what I LOVE to do. If you can't tell I have done some rearranging to my little blog site here. ------>
If you look to the right side of the page you can see that I have some new links up...there is a new testimonial link, and a new about me link, and I have also updated my pricing list. Every package now offers online proofing! If you have already signed a contract with me, then don't worry, these changes won't effect you, unless you want to take advantage of the upgraded packages. The new pricing will not go into effect until June 1st.

As always my number one goal is to provide excellent service to my clients, at an affordable cost. I also would like to take a brief moment to thank all of my clients. When Rachel called me and asked me to do her wedding, my response was "UMMM YEA" There wedding was truly a day of love and laughter. The weather was beautiful. The whole day was nothing short of AMAZING. I am so thankful that I was there to capture their wedding day. I have to say I LOVE WHAT I DO.

Downtown Louisville- Nikeshia is a senior and J-town and when she called me to do her senior pictures I jumped at the chance. I thought for sure that it would rain, but mother nature held off until after the shoot was over (Thank goodness). Nikeshia is such a fun and stylish girl. She tried to tell me that she didn't know how to pose...Are You Kidding Me? She needed very little direction, Americas Next Top Model ....LOOK OUT. I love senior sessions, it gives me a chance to get creative and do more out of the ordinary things. The whole time I was editing these I could not stop singing Beyonce's "Diva" song. Love it.

Bardstown Ky- I LOOOOOVE Bardstown. (and Beth and Eric too) We had a lovely Saturday afternoon together, and Beth could not wait to see some images from their session. Which is fine with me, I also LOOOVE it when people are excited to see their photos. Anywhooo towards the end of our session Beth told me that she didn't think she was photogenic...AYKM?? (my new favorite acronym *Are you kidding me*) I am not even half done with the editing, and when Beth texted me tonight to see if I had any thing for her to see I spent at least 45 minutes picking out my favorites out of the few that I already had edited. Beth...I hope they meet your approval.

So here are some of my favorite images from the group senior session that I did last weekend. These girls are absolutely GORGEOUS. All three of them are seniors at Fern Creek We started the day at Mellwood Art Center...which is a really cool place...but be careful it can also be dangerous. My assistant for the day Ashley was helping the girls with poses, and she fell in a partially covered hole in the ground that was about 2 feet deep. Our photo session almost became an emergency trip the the hospital...but Ash is tough girl and she was fine except for a small cut on her foot and bruise on her leg.

Shelby, Brooke and Sami are a lot of fun to work with and I am so glad that I got the opportunity to photograph them. I had never done a group senior session before, but I really enjoyed it. The girls fed off of each others energy which made shoot a lot of fun. They were all up for anything which enabled me to get some really unique shots. I am really happy with they way these images turned out.
